We are thrilled to welcome back Dr. Tammy Vretis! She will be seeing small and large animal patients and taking appointments on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays.
Tammy Jordan Vretis, DVM, MS
Dr. Tammy Vretis received her Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry and Master of Science degree in Animal Science, both from Angelo State University. She worked in San Angelo for ten years as a Registered Respiratory Therapist providing critical care for medical and trauma patients prior to attending Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine where she graduated in 2009 with her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. After moving back to Texas, Dr. Vretis worked with non-profit agencies performing spays and neuters for low-income households. She trained at Humane Alliance in Asheville, North Carolina, in High Quality High Volume spay and neuter techniques.
Dr. Vretis is married to Dr. Jim Vretis, an emergency room physician, and they have three children, two granddaughters and one grandson. Daughter Stephanie and her husband Casey live near San Angelo with their son, Ryder. Daughter JJ and her husband John live in Florida with their two daughters, Lillian and Palmer. Son Greg is in Heaven watching over all of them. The Vretis household also includes several dogs, cats and horses. Dr. Vretis is a member of Texas Veterinary Medical Association (TVMA), American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), Texas Equine Veterinary Association (TEVA), and American Association of Equine Practitioners (AAEP).
