The state of Texas is currently experiencing one of the worst battles with wildfires in its history. Many of our TVMA members in the hardest hit areas are working around the clock to take care of animals that have been dropped off at clinics due to their owners losing their home and having no place to keep them.
A number of Texas veterinarians have taken in displaced animals and treated injured or burned animal patients. Other clinics have opened their doors to residents affected by these devastating wildfires, by providing food and shelter for their pets.
In their time of need, the Texas Veterinary Medical Foundation will be offering grants to veterinarians that have been affected by the Texas wildfires. Qualifying veterinarians can apply for a grant for up to $1,000 to help offset costs related to treating, housing, and feeding animals affected by wildfires. TVMF has also set up a donation page for those who wish to contribute funds to assist these veterinarians in caring for these animals.
